Video Transcript: Level 2 “Trick” Test (Ringing Bell)

Sharon is mostly out of view, just her hands and knees sitting to the right and of the camera are visible. She is facing a screen door, beyond which a lawn is visible.

>> SHARON: Bell.

Her hand makes the ASL sign for “Bell.” Barnum stands in front of her and wanders out of view

>> SHARON: Where’d he go?

Barnum returns and heads toward the door. There is a gold bell hanging on a gold bracket on the molding to the right of the door. He noses the bell.

[Ding-a-ling!]

[Click!]

>> SHARON: Good job!

Sharon feeds him a treat.

>> SHARON: Barnum….

Barnum looks up at her. Sharon makes the ASL sign for “Out,” without voicing.

Barnum turns around off screen and makes for the bell again.

[Ding-a-ling!]

[Click!]

Sharon feeds him another treat.

>> SHARON: Do you wanna go out?

This time Barnum heads straight for the bell without turning around off screen.

[Ding-a-ling!]

[Click!]

Barnum returns for his treat.

>> SHARON: OK.

>> VOICE: Good, you got a lot of good….
